didnt jesus say when you see these signs, `all taken together, coming to pass, you may know `of a surety that he is near, at the very doors.
truly i tell you, this generation {the whole multitude of people living at the same time, in a definite, given period} will not pass away till all these things taken together take place {matthew 24: 33, 34} in verse 32 jesus gives an illustration to show us how to view the signs he has given us.

TRY THIS SCENARIO FOR “THIS GENERATION”!
Didn’t Jesus say” “When you see these signs, `all taken together, coming to pass, you may know `of a surety that He is near, at the very doors. Truly I tell you, this generation {the whole multitude of people living at the same time, in a definite, given period} will not pass away till all these things taken together take place” {Matthew 24: 33, 34} In verse 32 Jesus gives an illustration to show us how to view the signs He has given us. He said: “From the fig tree learn this lesson; as soon as its young shoots become soft and tender and it puts out its leaves you know of a surety that summer is near.” But not here yet!
Now if the calculations for the year 1914 are correct we might view that year as the time this little seed that would eventually produce a fig tree in full bloom was planted. So from that year a process of growth has been going on. The tree now is coming along very nicely. But the fruit that is on it is not quite ripe yet. But very close to being that! There is needed yet a little time until the fruit can be eaten and summer is here in all its glory.
Just like that tree with the unripe fruit, the sign although very close to completion is not quite all there as yet. Something is still missing! As Jesus said though, that when we saw the sign “all taken together” that “He is near “At the very doors.”
What Jesus was making reference to here is, was not the time period when this small seed was planted, nor the time period that it would take to produce fruit.. He was speaking about the time of “the Harvest season”. “The conclusion of the system of things.” “The close of the age” Mathew 13: 39,40 That is the time period that the entire sign would be clearly evident.
Since the fruit of that figurative tree is not fully ripe indicating that some of the “sign” is still missing. Some might now question: “What is it that is yet to occur? In my next article I will try to supply the answer to this question.

THE GOVERNING BODY = KORAH? HOW?

THE GOVERNING BODY= KORAH ? HOW?
Some may be shocked to even entertain an idea such as this. But is it possible that it may be true?
They themselves are very quick to use scare tactics such as this. Any who speak disparagingly about their claim to be the “Faithful Slave” are told that they are taking the same stand as did Korah of ancient times. They are reminded of what happened to him and his assembly of followers.
Only yesterday in conversation with one of the witnesses this accusative scare tactic was used on me. I informed him that Jehovah God used Moses as His mouthpiece. Moses had all of the credentials necessary to prove that beyond all doubt. To speak against Moses was to speak against Jehovah. Numbers 12: 7,8 that is why Korah, Dathan, and Abiram and all that belonged to them received the punishment that they did. Numbers 16: 2,3, 26-33
What about today though if one stands up and questions the teachings or interpretations of the Watchtower Society? Is that tantamount to speaking against Jehovah? Are all of their credentials so clear that it is beyond doubt that Jehovah speaks “mouth to mouth with them?
They may point to Hebrews 1:2 and show us that Jehovah has now “spoken to US in {the person of a } Son. Whom He appointed Heir and lawful owner of all things” … This of course is true for the one “who really is the Faithful Slave.” But does the Governing Body like Moses possess all of the credentials that shows beyond doubt that they legitimately bear that designation?
Turning now to the Bible I would like to direct attention to what is stated about these credentials.
The Watchtower Society teaches that “no one can understand the Bible apart from them.” Look now how their words are contradicted by Jesus Himself. In John 7: 17 Jesus is found to be saying: “ I f any man desires to do His will {Gods Pleasure} he will know {have the needed illumination to recognize and can tell for himself} whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking from myself and of my own accord and of my own authority.” So they are totally incorrect on that point. Does not that cast doubt on their claim to be God’s Channel? I believe that it does. But there is more.
Speaking to those who really were of the faithful slave class in the 1st century Jesus made this statement: … “ I have called you my friends because I have made known to you EVERYTHING that I have heard from my father { I have revealed to you EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE LEARNED FROM HIM”} John15: 15. The Watchtower Society has been in existence since the year 1879. BY this point in time if they really were the Faithful Slave they would have a comprehensive knowledge of the Bible. In conversation with the individual mentioned at my door I drew his attention to their many false claims. His reply was: “But the light gets brighter and brighter” Proverbs 4:18 That full quote goes like this: “But the path of the {uncompromisingly} just and righteous is like the light of dawn that shines more and more brighter and clearer until it reaches its full strength and glory {to be prepared} Amplified BibleJust how this process of increasing light takes place is explained by Jesus in John 14:26 “But the comforter … the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name …He will teach you all things and He will cause you to recall … to your remembrance everything I have told you.” The Apostle Paul adds this to all of that, in part: … “that you may be filled with the full {deep and clear} knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom {in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God} and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things- … bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God {with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition.” Colossians 1: 9,10 The Apostle John at 1st John 2:27 sums it all up nicely: “ But as for you, the anointing {the sacred appointment, the unction} which you received from Him abides {permanently} in you: {so} then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in {live in, never depart from} Him { being rooted in Him, knit to Him} just as {His anointing} has taught you to do.”
The true “Faithful Slave” that we would expect to find today would be individuals who can really claim that every word they speak is the inspired word of God. Every teaching, every interpretation set forth every Christian practice is exactly in harmony with Bible teachings. There would have to be clear evidence that Jehovah is teaching these ones due to the fact that no error can be found in their teachings. None whatsoever! This point is focused on by the Apostle John in 1 John 2: 21. “I write to you not because you are ignorant and do not perceive and know the Truth, because you do perceive and know it, and {know positively} that nothing false {no deception , no lie} is of the truth,”
Anyone who has taken the time to sit down and thoroughly “TEST” all of the teachings interpretations and practices of the Watchtower Society will know that they are really not God’s chosen channel. {1 John 4:1} There are too many errors too many unchristian practices as well as interpretations of scripture that are incorrect. So there claim to being the “Faithful Slave” is not true either! They are self-exalted! They are the ones standing in the shoes of Korah. They are making the same claims that Korah made. As Jesus said about the scribes and Pharisee’s: “They have seated themselves in the seat of Moses.” That is what Korah was trying to do! Matthew 23:2 I wonder how they will enjoy the same designation they put upon everyone else?

OUT OF THE FIRE INTO THE FRYING PAN!
In their efforts to preach the “Good News of the KINGDOM the Witnesses go door to door. They are imparting the knowledge that they have gleaned from those in positions of authority in their own Religious organization. Not from their own private personal diligent study of the Bible. They just accept everything told them as word of God. They are trying to shows these other people that they have been seriously misled. And they have! They have sat there in their pews and passively accepted every word that they have been taught as carved in stone. Just like the ones at the door.
Few if any follow the scriptural direction in 1 John 4:1 Romans 12:2 or 1 Thessalonians 5:21. They do not “Test” what they are taught. They do not “Prove to themselves” they do not “make sure of all things.” Why? They are not allowed to question the authority of their Religious Leaders! I f they dare to do that out they go! Sound like a familiar scenario?
Some time back I read an article in the Globe and mail paper. It was discussing what the Pope had to say about this very subject. I do not remember at this point the exact quote. The upshot of this article was that “anyone who did not accept all of the teachings of the Catholic Church was to be excommunicated” … Is it any wonder that they do not have knowledge of the Bible as Jehovah has revealed it?
When the Witnesses appear on their doorstep with their message what they hear if they take the time to listen is a message that is very close to the truth. Being untrained as they are some of them accept that message. They are truth hungry individuals and what they are hearing sounds like the truth. Some accept it as such.
The problem is those at the door at not allowed to follow the direction contained in the three scriptures previously mentioned. Anyone who has been associated with the Watchtower Society is well aware that all that are part of that organization “must accept all of the teachings of the Society without question” If they do not out they go. They have knowledge no one can argue that but they do not possess the “Wisdom of God” in order to make a correct application of said knowledge. I say that because any who are going door to door who refuse to follow the direction in 1 John 4:1, Romans 12:2 1Thessalonians 5:21 will never receive the “Wisdom from above”. So what we have here is a prime example of the “Blind leading the blind.” Both are going into “the pit.” Matthew 15:14 neither those answering the door nor the one’s knocking on the door follows the direction in those three scriptures. Both are threatened with removal if they do so. So they do not!
It becomes rather funny when you think about it. These one’s that are accepting everything they are being taught as the truth, are in actuality no better off than they were when they first started. Because when they become baptized they still do not test anything they are being taught. They still are expected to sit and passively accept everything they are being taught as carved in stone. So how are they any betters off than they were at first? All they have done is exchange one oppressive organization for another. Out of the frying pan into the fire as it were.
What both organizations have been failing to take into consideration are Jesus own words at John 7:16. “My teaching is not my own, but His who sent me.” Those failing to get the sense of that statement will never receive “the wisdom from above.” Lacking that wisdom they will never gain appreciation for all the rest of the scriptures. Nor will they understand them correctly. Nor will they have Jehovah’s Holy Spirit on them. Nor will they ever be able to set forth a proper interpretation of scripture. The many failed predictions of the Watchtower Society are proof of that. The many false teachings of the Churches of Christendom are also.
Jesus said very clearly that what He taught belonged to His Father. Further He tells us in John 15:15 “But I have called you My friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from Him.” That is just as true today as it was in the first century. Nothing has changed. There are those today who have been given the “Wisdom from above.” Jesus has made known to them everything that He has heard from the Father. In order to discover who these ones are it is necessary to “TEST” 1 John 4:1 everything being taught by any religious organization today. We must “Prove to ourselves” that what they are teaching is “The good and acceptable and perfect will of God” Romans 12:2. Again He tells us in John 13: 15 “I have given you an example so that you may copy everything that I have done to you.” The Apostle John in 1 John 2:6 adds this to all that: “Whoever says he abides in Him ought {as a personal debt} to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.” So then whether we are setting forth an interpretation of scripture or teaching anything related to scripture it must of necessity be done in full harmony with what Jesus Himself taught. If it isn’t what we will end up setting forth is our own personal interpretations, our own words.
When we begin teaching in harmony with Bible teachings it will become clearly evident to all listeners. Some will listen with great interest and act on what they hear. Others will manifest hatred towards us. Note Jesus own words concerning this at John 7:17 “If any man desires to do His will {God’s pleasure}, he will know {have the needed illumination to recognize, and can tell for himself whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking from myself and of my own accord and on my own authority. ” The Watchtower Society tells us that “we cannot understand the Bible apart from them.” But read again John 7:17 “ If any man desires to do His will he will know … and can tell for himself whether the teaching is from God” … So anyone who desires to do Jehovah’s will is a “faithful slave” and will be “appointed over all of Christ’s belongings.” Matthew 24:45 This bit of information puts the Watchtowers Governing Body in a very embarrassing position to say the least. There past record of failed prophecies is proof that they have not had “the wisdom from above” nor do they have it now! The reason being that when those who do have it rise up and try to correct them on any spiritual matter they are quickly gotten rid of. According to Jesus own words they were able to” tell for themselves whether a teaching was from God.” When it wasn’t they courageously stood up and informed them that it wasn’t. That is what Jehovah wanted them to do!
The Governing Body teaches that all of the members world- wide “must accept all teachings” as though they come out of “the mouth of God.” They are saying without actually saying it: “We do not allow you to “Test the inspired expression” You are not allowed “to prove to yourself the good and acceptable and perfect will of God” {We’re God} you are not allowed to “make sure of all things. Since” everything we speak is from God.” “All of that is not necessary.” What did Jesus have to say about Religious leaders that manifested this type of attitude? In John 7:18 it reads: “He who speaks on his own authority seeks to win honor for himself {He whose teaching originates with himself seeks his own glory.} But he who seeks the glory and is eager for the honor of Him who sent him. He is true; and there is no unrighteousness or falsehood or deception in him.”
It is common knowledge that much of what the Society teaches as well as some of their interpretations are not Bible based. Their teachings originate with themselves. Jesus said they were seeking to “win honor for themselves.” They were and are right now “seeking their own glory.” They have it! The entire worldwide Brotherhood bows to the Governing Body in Brooklyn New York as though they were God. No one even dares to question their authority out of fear of losing their honored positions within that arrangement. Jesus` words at John 12:43 apply to them all. “ For they loved the approval and the praise and the glory that come from men {instead of and} more than the glory that comes from God. {They value their credit with men more than their credit with God.”} What will be their end if they continue on the coarse that they are on? Jesus words at Matthew 23: 15 should help them see the need for quick change. “Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, pretenders {hypocrites}! For you travel over sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes one {a proselyte}, you make him doubly as much a child of hell {Gehenna} as you are.”
They are all aware of the changes that they must make now. If no changes come then it may become true in their case ” Out of the frying pan into the fire.” The fire of Gehenna!

Reasoning on reasons for disfellowshiping
by jed459 inthe only valid scriptual reason for disfellowshipping is if someone has committed a serious sin like having sex with his father's wife as paul said and is unrepentant.. or if someone has denied the faith and are deliberately teaching others against the true gospel to mislead them.
so unless jws really do have the true faith, they cannot scriptually disfellowship anyone unless they are unrepentant over a sin which is as serious as paul said.
yet in most cases the disfellowshiped person has not commited such a sin as that.

Jed:
Take a look at Matthew 13:28-30,41 According to this scripture there should be no disfellowshiiping done today at all. Not for any reason!
"The Servant said to Him,Then do you want US to go and weed them out? But He said, NO! lest in gathering the wild wheat {weeds resembling wheat} you root up the {true} wheat along with it.Let them grow together until the harvest; and at HARVEST TIME I will say to the reapers, Gather the darnel first and bind it in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my granery" Verse 41 shows us that it is the angels that Jesus instructs to do this work. NOw if Jesus has relinquished His position of appointed judge perhaps it would be alright to do that. Personally I have never read the scripture that even hints at such an idea. Have you? We have not yet arrived at that particular point of time in the harvest season. This parable by the way was given for the benefit of those who would be alive at that particular time. They were instructed not to weed them out. "NO! Let them grow together" Jesus said in so many words: That is my Job! Not any man's! The whole business of disfellowshipping is a travesty of justice with no equal!
